Cinemas & Theaters

Movie Theater and Cinema Cleaning Services

At SD Cleaning Services, we provide professional cleaning for movie theaters, cinemas, screening rooms, and entertainment venues throughout the Greater Portland Metro Area.

Movie theaters experience heavy foot traffic, food and drink spills, frequent restroom use, and constant contact with seats, counters, kiosks, doors, and handrails. Popcorn, candy, soda, grease, fingerprints, and debris can quickly build up throughout the property and affect the guest experience.

A clean theater helps create a more welcoming environment, protects the appearance of the facility, and gives guests confidence from the moment they enter the lobby until they leave the auditorium. Our cleaning plans can be customized around showtimes, closing schedules, special events, and the number of auditoriums within the facility.

Ticket Counters

Ticket counters are among the first areas guests see when they arrive. These surfaces can collect fingerprints, dust, paper debris, spills, and residue from frequent customer contact.

We clean accessible countertops, ledges, glass partitions, payment areas, writing surfaces, and other approved high-touch points. Care is taken around computers, ticketing equipment, payment terminals, and confidential business materials.

Self-Service Kiosks

Self-service ticket kiosks are touched by large numbers of guests throughout the day. Screens, buttons, card readers, ledges, and surrounding surfaces can quickly collect fingerprints, smudges, dust, and residue.

We clean approved exterior surfaces using methods appropriate for electronic equipment. We do not open, move, unplug, reprogram, or service kiosks as part of routine cleaning.

Restrooms

Restrooms are one of the most important parts of any movie theater cleaning plan. High customer volume means toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, counters, floors, partitions, and dispensers require consistent attention.

We clean and disinfect restroom surfaces, remove trash, and focus on visible buildup, odors, water spots, fingerprints, and high-touch areas. Paper products, soap, and other supplies can also be restocked when included in the service agreement.

Commercial Carpet Cleaning

Theater carpets experience heavy traffic and are often exposed to popcorn, candy, soda, butter, dirt, and moisture. We vacuum carpeted lobbies, hallways, auditoriums, stairs, and other public areas with attention to corners, edges, seating rows, and high-traffic paths.

Spot treatment, carpet extraction, and deeper commercial carpet cleaning can also be scheduled to address stains, odors, and buildup. Cleaning methods are selected based on the carpet type and facility requirements.

Trash Removal

Movie theaters generate a large amount of trash from cups, wrappers, popcorn containers, food packaging, napkins, and ticketing materials.

We empty designated trash and recycling containers in auditoriums, lobbies, restrooms, hallways, waiting areas, and other approved spaces. Liners can be replaced as needed, and waste is moved to designated collection areas or dumpsters.

Large-volume waste, food-service grease, hazardous materials, and regulated waste require separate handling procedures.

Seat and Furniture Cleaning

Auditorium seats, recliners, benches, lobby furniture, and waiting-area seating are used constantly and can collect crumbs, dust, spills, fingerprints, and food residue.

We wipe approved hard surfaces, armrests, cup holders, seat controls, tray tables, and accessible furniture areas. Upholstered surfaces can also be vacuumed when included in the cleaning plan.

Special attention can be given to spaces between seats, beneath footrests, and around seating rows where popcorn and debris tend to collect.

Tile Floor Cleaning

Tile floors in lobbies, concession areas, restrooms, hallways, and entrances can become sticky or dirty from soda, food, grease, and heavy foot traffic.

We sweep, vacuum, and mop tile surfaces using appropriate methods for the flooring material. Additional scrubbing or deeper floor care can be scheduled when buildup, stains, or residue require more intensive attention.

Handrails

Handrails in stairways, auditoriums, ramps, and hallways are high-touch surfaces that require regular cleaning.

We wipe accessible handrails, supports, guardrails, and nearby ledges to remove fingerprints, dust, smudges, and visible residue. Special care is taken around railings in dimly lit auditoriums and high-traffic paths.

Windows

Clean windows help improve the appearance of the lobby, entryway, ticketing area, and other public-facing parts of the theater.

We clean accessible interior glass, window frames, sills, and ledges while removing fingerprints, dust, smudges, and visible buildup. Exterior window cleaning may also be available depending on access, height, and property requirements.

Doors

Entry doors, auditorium doors, restroom doors, emergency exit doors, and interior glass doors are touched throughout the day and can quickly show fingerprints, smudges, and dirt.

We clean accessible door surfaces, glass panels, handles, push plates, frames, and surrounding areas. Special attention is given to entrances and high-visibility locations that influence the guest’s first impression.

Cleaning Plans Designed Around Theater Operations

Every theater has different cleaning needs based on the number of auditoriums, seat type, show schedule, concession traffic, and operating hours. Some facilities may need quick turnaround cleaning between showings, while others require detailed overnight service after the final movie.

SD Cleaning Services can create a customized plan covering ticket counters, kiosks, auditoriums, restrooms, carpets, seating, tile floors, handrails, windows, doors, and trash removal.

Our goal is to help your theater remain clean, welcoming, and ready for every guest and every showing.
